Fire (logs) and water (filters)

The back portion of the expansion alcove is home to the tools and hardware departments -- and I quite appreciate how they placed the sign to perfectly align with the cut-through aisle that seems to separate those two sections! This part of the store feels a bit awkward and cramped, without any actionway to connect the main racetrack to the aisles running along the far right wall (at the back of the store, at least). Also, these endcaps have the weird alternative aisle number designators again, with their oversized font and slightly-too-dark blue background.

  1. I'm confused! Is that aisle I24 or 124?

    1. Ha! Should be the letter I, since Walmart uses alphanumeric aisle codes (unlike Fred Meyer, which just counts from 1 to some absurdly high number). This is one place where the old triangular prisms were a better idea, since they had a very clear serif I.
