Butcher block (but with gaps)

The butcher block is an interesting mix of Albertsons and Safeway styles -- the hanging signs are a Safeway thing (though largely a post-merger one), but the wall signs, despite matching the hanging ones very nicely, aren't something I've seen in Safeways. Returning to the actual Heritage elements, I really like the Albertsons logo border above the service department opening! I can't make up my mind on the slatted wood paneling behind the department sign, so I'd love to hear what you think about it. (I do find it amusing that if they didn't have the gaps, the "butcher block" sign would be mounted on, more or less, actual butcher block!)

  1. In some ways, the wood paneling is my favorite part of the Heritage Decor package. That said, they did a poor job lining up the panels here and it seems the text is off-center because of that! That looks a bit sloppy, but otherwise I like it.

  2. I like the idea of the wood paneling, but yeah, unfortunately it looks off the way the lines in the wood don't align properly.

    1. It's funny that both of you mentioned that -- I'm pretty sure that's how it's supposed to look! It's the same way in the designer's example images, at least. Honestly, I don't mind the alignment, but Anonymous is right that it leads to an optical illusion with the text placement.
