And finally, here's a picture of the front of one of the directory signs that Airport includes. These are helpful, but not super easy to read at a glance. Also, I hate it when signs have QR codes on them like this (at least when I'm trying to take pictures) -- for some reason, Apple decided it was a good idea to make the QR code reader part of the normal camera function, so even with the internet off, taking pictures of signs like this makes my phone want to load the website instead!

  1. I can't say I've heard of a 'Mother's Room' Department before. I'm not even sure what that would be! Whatever it is, I don't think Fred Meyer has it...not under that name at least, lol.

It's a bit odd to be that there is a picture of a washing machine on the Home Appliances sign because, AFAIK, Walmart does not even sell those at these stores! Maybe they do at Sam's Club. Actually, when the local Wal-Mart Supercenter nearest to me opened in 2001-2, it actually had a GE Appliance Showroom in the little 'mall' area up front. These were kind of like those JCPenney appliance departments from a few years ago where they just had some demo models out and one could order the appliances. They didn't keep any inventory on hand. I'm guessing that idea didn't go over very well, probably because they lacked actual inventory, and those GE departments were quickly dropped.

    1. Yeah, I'm not sure what that is, beyond that it's some sort of room back by the restrooms.

You're right, that is odd! Walmart certainly doesn't sell large appliances in store, and I'm pretty sure they don't even sell them online (though it's hard to be certain since they have third-party sellers on their website these days). I'd never heard of those appliance showrooms in Walmarts -- that's an interesting concept, but I can see why it wouldn't work out all that well (and I can't imagine they even had all that much display inventory in one of those little spaces!).

    2. The mother's room is just a fancy name for the nursing room, which is just a private room nursing mothers can use for feeding their babies. If you were to ever look inside it, it's just a room with a table and a chair in it.

  2. Love the photo title 😄

That's funny about QR codes -- it has annoyed me, recently with paperless menus and all that, that my camera refuses to scan them. But I hadn't thought about the flip side, that it would annoy me even more if it always tried to scan them every time I take a picture with one in it!
