One downside to the endcap-mounted aisle designators that this store got is that aisles with special endcaps -- like the "battery center" seen here -- don't get any sort of aisle label. That's probably not a huge deal, since Walmart survived without any sort of numbers on the general merchandise aisles for decades, but it's still a shortcoming of this style. Also, it really looks like someone forgot to install a new endcap topper on the aisle at the left side of this picture -- it still just has the traditional flip-chart price sign instead.
Wow, the inventory in that Battery Center endcap seems almost as bad, if not worse, than the inventory in Kmart's DieHard Battery Center endcaps down towards the end! Here's a look at one of those Kmart endcaps that Je took: https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-rrgFdcg-gIs/XcoluVr4cMI/AAAAAAAAYas/pYuUMMrUdbg4UWoXQuDOsCB5YDyfaMaEQCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/20180806_113746.jpg
ReplyDeleteHa -- it's never good to hear Walmart (or anyone, really) compared unfavorably to Kmart! Hopefully this is just a 2021 problem, but as I've said before, Walmart has had long-term supply issues in the Northwest.
