Welcome to Heritage!

Yep, this store has the new(ish) Heritage decor package! I didn't think I would get the chance to see this (extremely cool) package in person, at least without a long drive, since Safeway's Washington division has gone all-in on Modern, plus they seemed to be getting rid of the Albertsons brand, and this decor is extremely Albertsons branded (I don't think it's an exaggeration to say that there are hundreds of Albertsons logos in this store -- I mean, just look at the bottom border of the welcome sign!). So when I came across this -- as part of my effort to catalog the current decor packages of every Albertsons-Safeway store -- I just had to run out here!

  1. Whoa, I'm glad you were able to find some Albertsons Heritage decor in your area! I'm looking forward to seeing this place up-close. I've seen a couple of stores like this on Google in Louisiana, but they are not numerous from what I can tell...at least not yet. What I've seen of the Louisiana stores looks pretty awesome!

So far, from what we can see inside, things look pretty awesome here. I like that welcome sign with the Albertsons logo all over it. It looks like this store has just about everything I want to see in a grocery store: nice decor, decent lighting, nice flooring, and a high drop ceiling. Hopefully the rest of the photos won't provide any disappointments!

It's a bit surprising the outside of this store did not receive any renovation with the Heritage decor. It seems the Dallas-area Albertsons that were renovated with Legacy decor did also get some facade renovations as well. It's not necessary though as I guess the outside was renovated in the 1990s so it looks modern enough as compared to some of the Dallas stores which, in at least one case, still had a 1970s Skaggs facade.

I suppose Albertsons is sticking around in the NW. That's good news for the areas where Safeways and Albertsons are close neighbors. Maybe those stores won't close then.

    1. Yeah, I was pretty excited to find this too! If you want a preview that's better than those Google Maps photos, Yon Woo Retail on Flickr has had several nice photosets of Heritage stores recently (which was enough to get me excited about it!). And this store is pretty nice, especially for one that's fairly old by Albertsons standards!

Interesting to hear that about exterior remodels! I don't believe any stores that have gotten remodeled lately -- including Albertsons to Safeway conversions -- have seen exterior changes other than new paint and signage (and that's only for conversions or Safeways with the old logo -- ones with the new logo kept their signage, even if it was in bad shape). And some (including this store) haven't even gotten new paint!

Yep, I'm happy that Albertsons is going to still be around, at least in some limited capacity, for a while to come! Their stores are pretty much the same as Safeway, but it's quite nice that they even still have their own decor for the time being.
