Since Whole Foods 365 was intended to be a high-tech, lower-staffed grocery store (again, that's how they intended to cut costs compared to normal Whole Foods stores), it's a bit surprising to see that there doesn't seem to have been a single self checkout in the place! I mean, it seems like that's about the limit of what most grocery stores are interested in doing in terms of automation, so it's interesting to see Whole Foods 365 implement newer technologies (kiosk ordering, electronic price tags, etc.) without using self checkouts.
