Old-fashioned checkouts

I was a bit surprised to see that this store had extremely basic, old-fashioned checkout counters that didn't even have conveyor belts! Perhaps this is normal for Whole Foods, but it still seems a bit odd for a full-size grocery store built in the 2010s. They're also exceedingly boring, with plain white laminate that goes against this store's bright and colorful aesthetic.
