Something used to be up here, but I don't know what

Up along the front wall, a section of the clothing department certainly appears to have been intended as a special department of some sort, with the decorative flooring, fancy lighting, and assorted soffits that look like they were intended to have signage on them. However, at this point, it was just a normal part of the clothing department, so I have no idea what the original intent for this space would have been. I have seen similar accent flooring in other Fred Meyer clothing departments (again without any context of what it was supposed to be accenting), but not the other details.
