Old-style shelving

Throughout most of the aisles, this store had the industrial-looking black shelving that Fred Meyer used for a while, complete with shelf-mounted lighting. Some of the aisles (outside of the food section) also had the checkered top trim seen here, which is an interesting idea to tie the aisle shelving into the overall decor (this is basically the same design as the crown molding used around the perimeter). This shelving certainly has a very distinctive style to it, but I have no idea how common it once was since Fred Meyer has eliminated it from pretty much all of their stores. In fact, when I saw it at the Tacoma store, I assumed it was a leftover from Stock Market Foods instead of being something that Fred Meyer installed!
