Green to brown

Over at the edge of the grand aisle, I was amused to see how the painters just split this leaf in half between the green and brown wall sections! No, I'm not sure what a more elegant way to do this would have been, since there's a clear dividing line here already (between the wall cases and milk walk-in), but it's still kind of funny.

  1. It's like the transition from summer to autumn! Well, at least here in Houston, things go from green and healthy to brown and dead without much in between. That kind of reminds me of Albertsons' time in Houston years ago, lol.

I visited a Randall's today and I can confirm that they're still using the plastic bags with the fairly generic repeating "Thank You" design on them even though the bags are not generic since they have Randall's, Albertsons, and Tom Thumb's names written in the small print at the bottom of the bag. I figured that maybe those bags were a temporary thing, but that seems to not be the case. Also, it seems like my local Randall's has received a Starbucks renovation quite recently, but the rest of the store is still Lifestyle v2. I'm not really complaining!

    1. Ha, funny comparison!

Those bags are a weird choice. Around here, they're still using the Safeway/Albertsons co-branded ones you commented on a while back.

It seems like Starbucks remodels are completely independent of full-store remodels. Around here, most stores got Starbucks remodels around 2018, preceding the wave of Safeway remodels in 2019-2020; however, some stores that got Modern decor still haven't gotten Starbucks remodels or got them after their decor swaps.
