Case in point, here's the hollowed-out former kids' department wing of the upper level. There was nothing left but a few cardboard boxes. I think I've mentioned this before, but that carpeting totally looks like something you'd find at a Target! (It also totally looks like my camera decided to blur it, but no, that's what it actually looked like.)
That carpet is not too dissimilar from the carpet we have at work, but the carpet at work does not have the splotches of red. Hopefully the carpet Macy's had was better than the carpet we have. I think the carpet at work is the peel-and-stick type of commercial carpet squares and it's really, really bad, If you put any kind of remotely heavy furniture on the carpet floor, the carpet puckers up off the floor. It's like affixing carpet with bubblegum or something! I've never seen carpeted stores have that same problem so retailers must use better quality glue. Actually, the old carpet we had didn't have a problem either.
ReplyDeleteFunny! Now that I think of it, the UW had similar carpet squares too, but with purple instead of red accents (you certainly aren't going to see red and grey at the UW, haha!). I remember them having the same issue in some spots, too!
DeleteYou might be amused to learn that the University of Houston named their athletics teams the Cougars after the Washington State University Cougars! Well, as a UW graduate, maybe you wouldn't be too amused by that, lol. Link: https://www.cougcenter.com/2019/9/11/20860358/washington-state-cougars-houston-cougars-john-bender-cougs-coogs
