Heading further into the former furniture department, we find this old checkout desk, which was very clearly out of commission by this point. The registers were partly disassembled, and random old stuff piled up. Also, I don't think I had noticed before how bad that fake brick wallpaper was -- there shouldn't be such an obvious grid pattern in brickwork!
