Something I always find odd about these early-2000s Safeways with garages is the style of the parking garage signage. As much as I love it, it doesn't really go with the interior decor style of the era. I'm guessing they were going for some sort of 50s retro aesthetic here, and I just don't get that at all from Proto-Lifestyle! But again, I absolutely love this style of sign, and this store has some of the best examples I've seen.
I'm pretty sure the Houston Midtown Randall's with underground parking opened during the Safeway era, but it doesn't have very fancy parking signage at all. Granted, what it has works I suppose. It's interesting that the sign says 'Randall's' when I'm pretty sure Randall's formally started calling themselves 'Randalls' before that store opened. Oh well, I still use 'Randall's' so I can't really complain, lol.

Wow, that's really boring! Looks like someone just grabbed some generic lettering and stuck it on the height bar.
