Old fixtures, worse-than-old decor

Looking back the other way, we see... nothing much of interest. Unlike most Banner remodels, this store didn't get new decorative shelving for the housewares department, so the Northwest-era stuff is still in place -- and it's painfully obvious that it doesn't belong with this decor package. (For the first remodel with a new decor package, this store has a surprising amount of leftovers -- you'd think Fred Meyer would want to show off all the parts of their shiny new thing, but that didn't really happen here.)

And just to clarify the title, I'm not ready to say that Artisan is worse than Northwest yet. But I certainly can't say it's better than Northwest either. This part of the store is certainly worse than Northwest, though. And in my opinion, the whole thing is way worse than Banner, the package it's theoretically supplanting... though, Kroger being Kroger, Banner is still in use in some areas, and may even still be in use at Fred Meyer -- I haven't been able to prove that either way yet.
