Yeah, because an electonics store is where you go when you're looking for perfume

One of the aisles in this part of the store had become the perfume aisle, which has to be the weirdest thing I saw in Fry's on this visit. I'm sure this is one of the things they were selling on consignment, but even then, they still didn't manage to have a reasonable stock level!

  1. Ha, yeah, Fry's selling fragrances became quite a joke for Je and myself over at Je's blog, lol. Fry's sold a lot of non-traditional products even during their prime days so I suppose selling fragrances isn't too far out of the norm for them, but still. How many people go to Fry's and say "boy, I better buy some perfume!" Probably not too many and Fry's seems like the place that would sell those knock off perfumes. Blue Diamonds instead of White Diamonds, Cold Water instead of Cool Water, and so forth, lol.

Speaking of funny stuff, you've surely heard about some of Walgreens' recent downsizing efforts including them opening locations in an old Jack in the Box and an old Dairy Queen. Here's some images from inside a downsized Walgreens that opened up in an old KFC in Dallas. You can see how plain the decor is inside these. They're very basic, but there's not much in them. The downsized Walgreens near me isn't in an old fast food place, but it looks similar to this.

As I told the person who sent this to me, who knew Walgreens was Finger Lickin' Good? Lol! https://goo.gl/maps/hchNkDKrZiKtrcJo9

    1. Yeah, I've heard some of those jokes too! Perfume doesn't exactly seem to fit in with the stereotypical Fry's demographic... 🙂

I think I had vaguely heard of those micro-Walgreens stores before, but I didn't realize they were going in to old fast food places! That's odd. The decor, on the other hand... that seems about right for Walgreens, or at least my stereotype of them!

    2. Oh, I guess I never shared with you this picture of a Walgreens that opened up in an old Jack in the Box in Jacksonville, TX. The Walgreens in the Box still very much looks like a Jack in the Box!

It seems that Walgreens is okay with just about any potential downsized location that has a drive-thru and that certainly means fast food restaurants.

While Walgreens' decor is usually rather spartan, that Walgreens Fried Chicken location is plain even by Walgreens standards! Then again, like I said, the other downsized locations I've seen (not counting the Village Medical locations) have similar very plain decor.

    3. Wow, they really did nothing there! I'm surprised they didn't even try to make it look like a normal Walgreens...
