Extreme close up

Turning around the other way, it's clear that the former bath department is a complete mess too, with linens strewn about (though at least this store was good about keeping things off of the floor, which isn't always the case when it comes to store closings!). There was also a bit of random clothing here for some reason, such as the coats on the table by the top left corner of the store closing sign.

  1. I remember visiting the Almeda Mall Macy's here in Houston a few years ago, which is not a closing store, and it looked like it was in a similar state of disarray in terms of items just thrown onto racks and displays with no regard to organizing them by size or anything like that. Maybe I caught that Macy's having a bad day, but it seems that shopping at Macy's is increasingly becoming like shopping at Ross...except that Macy's doesn't have as much of a tightly packed crowd in the store as Ross does.

    1. Oh, BTW, maybe you and Retail Retell already know about this, but Jeff from Retail Mix USA on YouTube visited a closed Kroger in Tennessee whose pharmacy inside the store and gas station is still open. He just visited this yesterday. I'm not sure what the deal is here, but maybe Retail Retell knows the story!

    2. I haven't seen the video yet, but I assume that's the store in Murfreesboro; if so, that's a relatively new development, as the store just closed a month or two ago. I highly doubt the current setup is intended to be permanent, but we'll see...

    3. Wow -- Macy's normally seems better than that! This store definitely was prior to the closing, but once the closing sale starts, anything goes...
