This store had an extra mural over the lunch meats section, and it was positioned such that I could get a closer shot than normal. Interestingly, this one was also coming apart (which you can kind of see in this picture and the previous one -- it was more obvious in person), revealing that these things are made in four pieces (presumably to make transportation and installation a little easier). They must be quite well made (and the installation quality must have been better than it typically is with Kroger these days), since it's normally nearly impossible to tell that they aren't one piece!
That's not too tremendously different than the Kroger Deli and Bakery advertising mural Kroger was using in 1983 as seen in this newspaper ad (which actually starts on the previous page, but the relevant mural is on the linked page):

Kroger may have had that design up in their delis back in the day. I seem to remember that a little bit, but it's hard to remember this stuff decades later, lol.
Ha, I see what you're saying! I feel like it's somewhat reminiscent of 80s food photography, too.
