Glass blocks, and other knick-knacks

The closest I came to buying something at this store closing sale was with these glass blocks, which I seriously considered over the few weeks that they were here. Unfortunately, I don't exactly have a use for a glass block! The main reason I didn't end up buying one, though, is simply that they didn't have any obvious connection to this store -- they didn't have any labeling on them, they obviously had never been installed in anything, and this store doesn't even have any obvious glass blocks in its architecture, so I didn't feel like they were really anything special.

  1. I agree with you, though -- those things are pretty cool! I probably would have considered buying some as well.

About what time did the fixture sale at this store begin? I was able to visit the closing Carriage Crossing Macy's yesterday, and they had fixtures lying everywhere, but nothing was for sale yet.

    1. Looking back at my pictures, it had already started by my first visit to the store closing, so sometime within the first week. It was mostly mannequins on sale at that point, though. It was in full swing by the second week of the sale.

I'm surprised that your store didn't start selling fixtures right away -- it seems like they'd want as much time as possible to try to clear out the fixtures, but who knows!

    2. Interesting. I'm used to stores having a short period at the beginning with the yellow inquiry box saying the sale will start soon, but I agree, I would've expected it to begin by now -- so who knows what's going on...

    3. I honestly have no idea. On my first visit, they did have the inquiry box, but they were also selling things -- maybe the box was just for the larger/higher value things in this case, but I really have no idea.
