Welcome to the White Center Safeway!

I think you can already tell from this picture that this isn't your typical Safeway, and as you'll see soon enough, this isn't your typical store tour either! This store was built sometime in the mid-90s (I don't know when exactly because King County records claim it was built in 1961, which, from looking at historic aerials, is clearly false) as one of the only purpose-built Fred Meyer Marketplaces ever built (see this set for more information on the Fred Meyer Marketplace concept as well as some pictures of what I assume this store's interior would have looked like when it was built). It was sold to Safeway in 2001, and was remodeled in 2006 and again in 2020.
