Hey, you can actually read this one!

The electrical section seems to have been running low on stock at this point, which is lucky for me as it means that most of the sign is actually visible! Having the signage so low on the wall makes it clear that the lettering is actually decals, rather than paint, as it's differently reflective than the paint stripe below (which is supposed to be the same letter) -- note how the "ECT" part looks darker than the stripe, but by the time you get to the "ICA" part the lettering actually looks lighter! This effect isn't particularly noticeable in person, but it's still interesting to see.

    1. I'm starting to wonder whether any of the decor that Kroger uses is actually painted/stencils. I would have thought that the place names in Urban Mix were stencils, but L_dawg just posted a picture showing that they're actually wallpaper, these signs are decals, and I'm pretty sure the graphics in 2012 are decals too. I suppose that makes for a somewhat easier and more consistent installation... in theory, at least -- as we all know, in practice, the contractors are really good at screwing things up regardless!

    2. I know they physically handpainted the stencils in bountiful décor, but maybe the outlines were first drawn on the walls via stencils? Not sure how all that works, but here's a pic proving the painting aspect: https://www.flickr.com/photos/bradley_memphis/10230391055/in/gallery-130271900@N03-72157710227929376/

    3. Huh, now that's interesting! I could have sworn I had seen a picture of them being installed as decals, but I must be thinking of a different decor package (and I don't even know where to start to look!).

    4. Yeah, frankly I'm surprised I found that pic so easily XD And hey, don't forget -- this *is* Kroger after all; maybe you did see them being installed as decals in another 2012 store, haha!
