The frozen food section had been decked out with giant patio umbrellas at the time of this visit, which certainly gave it a cool appearance! Otherwise, however, nothing had changed about this section during the remodel.
Very odd, I was just looking at some photos on Google of a Randall's in the Houston suburb of Richmond yesterday which I had not seen before and they also have/had large umbrellas on top of the refrigerated foods cases! I was thinking that the umbrellas were odd, but now here is a different supermarket in a different place doing something similar! Who knew?!
Interesting! I assume they're for sale, not for decoration, but I'm not entirely sure how you're supposed to buy them. I have seen something similar at Safeways, so it's not too surprising that ones in your area have them too.
