Manual checkouts

The entry alley also contained a set of four "manual" checkouts, none of which were in use on this visit (and they really didn't look like they were used at all). Interestingly, they're numbered 3-6, indicating that there are two others somewhere in the store (presumably downstairs, or perhaps they're even counting the two stations at the customer service counter). Speaking of the register lights, this is the first time I've seen this style used for non-self checkouts -- does anyone know if this is a common thing? The full-size Targets I've seen with P17 so far all seem to have kept their older register lights. And one last little oddity -- for some reason, this part of the store has the red beams over the actionway rather than directly over the checkouts.

  1. I think that the checkout lights are a newer feature of P17. They look nicer than the older ones.

  2. Yeah, the newer remodels get these lane lights (2019-onward remodels for the most part). However, in the bigger stores, the non-self checkout lanes have these panels turned sideways, like this: https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-WAnmzJphLTA/XViKhLesypI/AAAAAAAALlA/aiHRYTLrb6M9gKiJJNhwt9oG_U2-_G5BgCLcBGAs/s1600/Photo%2B46.jpg
