Not as much of a tunnel, but still very red

The downstairs entry had the same red ceiling and random lights as the upstairs one, but the higher ceiling and smaller area led to a very different feel. This view also shows one last oddity of this store's layout, and perhaps the most serious one -- the elevators to the upper levels are on the outside side  of the checkouts! It seems like it would be really easy to just come down the elevators with a bunch of stuff and head out the doors behind me, or directly across the aisle to the parking elevators, without even passing the checkouts. Perhaps that's why the security podium (something that pretty much every Target around here has) is where it is, but, well, that only works if there's actually someone at the podium!
