Maybe I should have saved the gripe about random ceilings for this picture, which shows even more randomness! Heck, the lowered ceiling over the escalators (which doesn't have any apparent reason -- the escalators weren't in this location until Target moved in) doesn't even connect up to the beam on the right side, leaving a weird little gap. But as we'll see soon enough, this isn't even close to the weirdest thing about this store's upper level...
