Dear Target: Pike Plaza is dead. Stop trying to bring it back.

Much of the elevator lobby is now home to this giant customized entry rug. It's a neat idea, but I still can't get over Target's insistence on using the Pike Plaza name for this store. Remember, Pike Plaza is the name of the original 90s mall in this space, which never took off, was all but dead by the end of the 90s, and was completely wiped out when Target moved in. So why are they still using this otherwise-forgotten name? Wouldn't it make more sense to call this the "Downtown" store, or even the "Pike Place" store (which I suspect is what most people think the store's name actually is since that's such a well-recognized name locally)? I don't get it!
