Here's a look across the front end from the other direction, showing the tiny clothing section that a lot of Grocery Outlets have. Oh, and speaking of Grocery Outlet in general, I just looked up the company history, and noticed that they're almost exclusively on the west coast -- so for all of you that don't live in areas that have Grocery Outlets, oops, I guess I was acting like you were more familiar with the company than you probably actually are! I think it's pretty accurate to describe it as a Big Lots, but with groceries as the main focus and general merchandise as a smaller add-on.

  1. I've always found it extremely weird how Grocery Outlet is almost entirely clustered on the West Coast, yet about 10 or so years ago, they bought a small grocery chain in SE Pennsylvania (and still operate out that way too). That always seemed like one of the most random expansions a company could make, jumping across the country like that!

    1. It really is! What's really funny about it is that those stores were also called "Grocery Outlet" -- it's almost as if that's why they decided to expand that way! 😉
