While Barnes & Noble stores often have a very large number of checkouts, this store's checkout counter seems rather extreme -- especially since they also had a normal-size one upstairs that's probably more popular! While this store was probably particularly non-busy on this day due to the impending closure and lack of a store closing sale, I can't imagine it was ever really busy enough to warrant this many checkouts -- certainly not anytime recently, at least.
