For some bizarre reason, the cookbook department got star placement in this store, with a huge section in the back left corner, a special sign in the far left of this picture, and a custom display that no other department got anything like. That display itself is particularly interesting -- I imagine it was designed to look like kitchen cabinetry, and featured a rather surreal picture of a landscape with words, books, food, and kitchenware floating over it. I have to imagine that this thing must be original to this store's 90s construction!
