Around the corner from seafood is the lunch meats department. (Lunch meats is already a weird term for me, and "luncheon meats" sounds even weirder -- I'm not sure if it's an old-fashioned term or a regional thing from some other part of the country.) It's weird for Safeway to have a lunch meats department at all -- the pre-packaged deli meats are normally in the deli and/or the dairy aisle) but this is clearly a fully-designed piece of decor complete with special pictures, which makes me wonder if this was more common to see before the Lifestyle era.
