Clearly, this was the busiest part of the store! Meanwhile, I swear I've seen this exact font in some other decor, but the closest I can think of right now is
the Albertsons Blue and Grey Market font, which is certainly not the same. (If you know what I'm thinking of, please let me know...) This also shows the adjacent Walgreens, which is still in operation as far as I know.
I want to say I've seen that font on some signs at a few older, independent and small chain grocery stores up in Pennsylvania before. I very highly doubt that's what's triggering your memories of this font, but that's what I associate it with: older grocery stores.
