NO Matching Pairs (Rise)

As far as I could tell, this is all that remained of the shoe department -- one single taped-off aisle full of castoff unmatched shoes. Lots of questions here -- for example, why did shoes sell out so fast here? And, even more obviously, how did this store end up with such a massive quantity of unmatched shoes? I could see there being a few, from display models and such, but a full aisle worth seems crazy!

  1. I saw a video on YouTube a while back from a Shopko store closing. The channel is run by a guy who does buyouts of all the stock that's left on the final day. There were a ton of mismatched shoes there, too. He typically tries to resell his purchases, but he mentioned in the video - and lots of people harped on this in the comments - that mismatched shoes are great to donate to facilities housing or helping people who only need one shoe. Hopefully they were donated to a cause like that.

    1. Huh, interesting, I never would have thought of that! No clue what Kmart does with leftover merchandise from their store closings -- I certainly hope they donate it to a good home though, since they have so many closings these days!

    2. I believe it was also mentioned in the video the issue of people who need two different size shoes because one foot is larger and one smaller than the other. Things we don't really think about, but apparently are more common than we think! Here's the video of you're interested (it's a cool channel, although I haven't had the time to watch much from it): https://youtu.be/h_64i8dYVwg
