The space for the new liquor department was created by removing the section of the frozen aisles that stuck past the rest of the aisles, which was another weird bit of the Grocery Palace layout that made some sense with that decor which treated it as a completely separate department, but made no sense following remodels when it went back to being just a couple aisles. The frozen cases that were up here, as well as the ones that were where the coffin cases are in meat and dairy, were relocated to add an additional half aisle of frozen in the old liquor department. As you can tell here, this remodel dropped the old Albertsons walk-in beer case, replacing it with normal open cases along the walls.
