With the store closed, I decided to dart around back to see if there was anything to see. (Amusingly, this may have been the busiest part of the area with the Goodwill truck in the background!) I was quite surprised to come across another Big Kmart labelscar on the back facade, pointing at nothing in particular -- I know these are fairly common when stores back up to a major road or some other point of interest, but at this store, all there is back here is an elementary school (hidden behind the row of trees to the left) and a USPS warehouse of some sort. Behind the row of trees in the background is a highway, but even if the trees weren't there there would be no way the sign would be visible at highway speeds. So I have no clue what the idea was. Here's an aerial view so you can judge for yourself!
Anyways, that concludes my coverage of this store, and (unless something very weird happens) of Kmart on the whole. I'll try to have something a little more happy starting tomorrow!
