The hanging signs were even missing by this point, except for the customer service sign which held on for a little bit longer. It looks like the dirt and trash had been building up under the checkout counters for quite some time -- yuck! Anyways, this view through to the elevator in the background wouldn't have been possible in any way back when the store was open, as the space between the columns in the center of this picture is where all the central departments would have been -- again, it's a totally different feel with those giant shelves gone!
