This is a funny picture, but I had to get something of the only bit of "Beautiful Garbage" font to be found in this store! This very early-2000s-style font was one of the primary elements of the P01 decor in stores that had the full package, but since Target doesn't use much wall signage and this store has P04 hanging signs, it only would have been present here, at the fitting rooms, and maybe at the pharmacy... and as we've seen, it's gone from the latter two spots here, so this is all we have left.
While the white neon on grey walls in the clothing department looks pretty bland, I actually quite like the look of white neon on colored walls, like this section has. That's part of why I particularly like the following Target decor package (P04), which uses red walls with white neon throughout.

Great song! A commenter posted on one of my flickr photos recently some detailed knowledge about this font. I can pull the link if you want, but long story short, it's called Eurostile and it's apparently been around in various applications for quite some time.
ReplyDeleteYep -- that's one of my favorites, and that whole album is really good!
DeleteNot surprising to hear that the font has been around for a while -- I just particularly associate it with the early 2000s for one reason or another (probably mainly because of this decor and that album!).
Yep, same here concerning the 2000s association!
