The large housewares department continues through most of the back central portion of the store. Target's strong suit, in my mind, has always been their housewares, which tend to be a bit nicer than Walmart and much less expensive than Fred Meyer. Sadly, I don't have any Targets particularly close to where I live now.
The line of new-style department signs marching off into the distance looks much nicer in person than it comes across in this picture. Regardless, this is probably the least glare-y picture I've managed to get of one of these. As much as I like their style, however, they aren't great for actual navigation -- the text is far too small to see from a long distance, and the pictographs are hard to pick out even up close. That is one of the few things that Walmart does better in their decor packages -- that, and actually having wall decor.
