a.k.a the MarketPlace at Factoria, but does anyone ever use that sort of name?
This mall was built in 1977, kicking off the commercial development in this part of Bellevue. It was never a particularly high-end mall, anchored by a bunch of non-traditional and lower-end tenants even when it was built. In the 2000s, it was starting to look like a dead mall, and was almost redeveloped and largely torn down before the recession killed those plans. Here's a great blog post showing the lows of the mall back in 2007. Thankfully, it has rebounded somewhat since then, and while I doubt it will ever be all that upscale, it it certainly doesn't feel like a dead mall any longer.
