Stepping back inside, here's a perspective on how the Safeway and Rite Aid related to the main portion of the mall. Safeway is the only anchor tenant that never had a direct mall connection, with the Rite Aid separating it from the mall proper. The Rite Aid, meanwhile, is probably the most untouched portion of the mall, with the landlord portion having been redone sometime in the 90s (I'm assuming), and most of the exterior tenants having done something to their facades over the years as well. (Honestly, if the rest of the mall originally looked like the Rite Aid, it's no great loss...)
