The deli was also still operational a couple weeks into the closing, but it looks like it was one of the areas that was starting to run out of product, even at only 10% off. The cheese island (not sure why it's labeled "entertaining", but that's beside the point) was still quite well stocked, however. And again, even in the emptiest part of the store, the employees were clearly still putting quite a bit of effort into making everything look presentable, unlike the normal store closing scene (even in some other Safeways). I'm sure they all were able to transfer elsewhere, since Safeway seems to be having trouble keeping workers these days.
