This store was built in 1980, as part of what was then a booming retail and office development centered on the adjacent Factoria Mall. The mall is located right at the corner of I-90 and 405, which I'm sure seemed like a great location at the time, but not so much today with those roads being infamously congested most of the time.
This store is fairly close to the Eastgate Safeway from last time, just a mile and a half away. Out here in this sort of suburban development, I suppose that makes them pretty direct competitors, though there are some even closer ones that we'll see soon.
