Fresh Deli (hmm, I'm sensing a theme here...)

Just inside the newer (north) portion of the store, we find the deli department. At first, I thought Albertsons chose not to put the sign over the service counter, but no, that's just the cheese island getting in the way of my picture again.

Like almost every Albertsons with this decor package around here, this store was briefly a Haggen during the Safeway-Albertsons merger (or, as I like to call it, the Haggenpocalipse). Neither the Haggen conversion nor the Albertsons reclamation involved much more than a decor swap, meaning that many parts of the store were left untouched, such as the super-bland tile in the service departments.
