One of the more unusual aspects of this decor package, and one I didn't properly feature last time, is the secondary produce sign. Rather than a standard hanging or wall sign, the letters stick up from the case-top trim, with the top half projecting into empty space. I'm sure someone will quickly chime in with another example, I can't think of anything quite like this off the top of my head...
I can't think of another similar example of this at a different chain, but the former Largo Safeway had this same floating produce sign. It's really a shame Publix went in and ripped all this stuff out after only two years.
ReplyDeleteIt really is too bad to see what they've done -- the new semi-Publix interior doesn't look nearly as nice! I'm glad that this decor package is finally starting to become common here.
