While this decor package generally has a relatively upscale look, one place where it really falls flat is the jewelry store. While these typically look like they'd fit in quite nicely in a mall setting, here it looks like... a department in a hypermarket. Not quite in line with the actual status of the Fred Meyer Jewelers chain, which has its origins in an actual jewelry store company and has several stand-alone locations...
Note also the floor here and in the last picture. The space inside the left entrance -- the original main entrance of the store, though I'd consider the grocery entrance the main one these days -- has a section of terrazzo flooring stretching most of the way to the back of the store. While it's probably as old as the store and has sadly been trenched through a bit, it still looks quite nice here!
Just one more week left at this store, and therefore of both Fred Meyer content (for now) and my old Flickr page... though my first real blog post will be some stuff related to this set that I thought would be better suited for a blog post. But let's put that aside for now, and I'll be back for more Overlake Fred Meyer next week!
